Pickboy and Mooer artist Thiago Trinsi is a finalist in The French Guitar Contest 2013.
For this final round Thiago had to compose and record a whole song, and he did it in 2 days. He composed the song in one day and I recorded in the very next day. Mike Lepond, bassist of Symphony X, played the bass on the new song called “Terra” which means Earth.
Says Thiago, “Pickboy picks are with me 100% in every moment of of these process! The Best Picks in the World!”
Earl and Al on stage at the Lyric Theatre, Johannesburg, SA
Our good friend and R.Cocco user, Al “The Burner” Turner, traveled to South Africa and performed with Earl Klugh at the Lyric Theatre in Johannesburg on May 17 & 18, 2013.
The Lyric Theatre, luxuriously styled with 1100-seats, reminds one of the opulence of the world’s great opera houses with its plush fittings and rich atmosphere. A great place to catch some great music!

According to Al, Earl Klugh and the band did not disappoint with two fantastic shows in Johannesburg for the many Earl Klugh fans in SA. The band were Al Turner (electric and upright bass), Ron Otis (drums), David Lee (keyboards), Tom Braxton (sax) and lead by Earl Klugh on guitar. Both performances received many great comments including one about a duet that Earl and Al played together. (Anyone have a video of that duet!)
Earl is releasing his third solo album on 4th June 2013 entitled, “HandPicked.” It’s a solo guitar album of standards and originals, with a few duets between Earl and some of his favorite string players: Vince Gill, Jake Shimabukuro and Bill Frisell!

Al recording currently his next CD and using R.Cocco strings on his Jazz basses. Also in the works are a new band album project with Earl Klugh, a album project with KEM, and tours with Earl Klugh and KEM this summer. Whew!
We’ll see you in New York City this summer, Al!
Alpha Rev, featuring Zak Loy on guitar, brought their version of sonic mastery to the Bowery Ballroom last week in NYC. The band played 8 melodic songs in their sold out performance including one completely acoustic song without any PA support from the venue. Osiamo endorsee Zak Loy played several guitars through Mooer micro pedals and picked with Pickboy picks to make it all happen!
Be sure to see Alpha Rev when they come to a city near you.
Stay tuned to www.osiamo.com for Alpha Rev’s tour schedule!
