Jay Gore Performing “Solitude” with Rockready Snap!Strap Quick Release Guitar Strap

We caught Rockready artist Jay Gore in action at Spaghettini in Seal Beach, CA. Playing covers and originals with a wide array of talented musicians, check out this clip of “Solitude”, and notice Jay’s Snap!Strap quick release guitar strap, keeping him Rockready…and Jazz ready!

Jay also uses:

Pickboy Picks

Jay uses the Pickboy Vintage Pearl 1.00mm because the materials and design allow him to use a heavier pick without it feeling too thick. Also he really likes the point as it’s more like a Jazz pick.

“Bottom line…I play better with a Pickboy!!!”

Rockready Volo Guitar Gig Bag:
Says Jay, “It’s a really great bag and it’s super light! It has pockets for my whammy bar, strap, ear plugs, and a place to keep my custom Pickboy picks.”

The Compdriver : New from Dr J!

ThDr J CompDrivere “COMPDRIVER” is a signature pedal of Dr J endorsee, Jose de Castro. This new Dr J pedal combines an overdrive and a compressor effect. With the two 2-way switches you can control the position of the compressor (before or after the overdrive), or you can turn it off. The tone of the overdrive was sculpted with Jose’s input. The overdrive is very clear and rises above your band when you kick it in!

Al Turner with Earl Klugh at the Lyric Theatre in Johannesburg

Earl and Al on stage at the Lyric Theatre, Johannesburg, SA

Our good friend and R.Cocco user, Al “The Burner” Turner, traveled to South Africa and performed with Earl Klugh at the Lyric Theatre in Johannesburg on May 17 & 18, 2013.

The Lyric Theatre, luxuriously styled with 1100-seats, reminds one of the opulence of the world’s great opera houses with its plush fittings and rich atmosphere. A great place to catch some great music!

Al on his Ken Smith 6 string bass!

According to Al, Earl Klugh and the band did not disappoint with two fantastic shows in Johannesburg for the many Earl Klugh fans in SA. The band were Al Turner (electric and upright bass), Ron Otis (drums), David Lee (keyboards), Tom  Braxton (sax) and lead by Earl Klugh on guitar. Both performances received many great comments including one about a duet that Earl and Al played together. (Anyone have a video of that duet!)

Earl is releasing his third solo album on 4th June 2013 entitled, “HandPicked.” It’s a solo guitar album of standards and originals, with a few duets between Earl and some of his favorite string players: Vince Gill, Jake Shimabukuro and Bill Frisell!
